Stacey Smith (Lauderhill, FL) was named the Heartland Conference Co-Player of the Week for her performances the past week as released by the conference office Tuesday. Although Smith averaged just 7.5 points in the two games this past week, she dominated the glass, averaging 14 rebounds during the week. In the Blue Tiger victory against Heartland Conference newcomer Arkansas-Ft. Smith, Smith posted a double-double with 11 points and 19 rebounds, which was not only her season-high for caroms, but also was the team individual high this season. Smith also added six assists and eight steals, while leading the team in minutes played with 67.

 

For the season, the senior forward is nearly averaging a double-double, posting 11.6 points per game and 9.6 rebounds a contest. Smith ranks third on the team in points, while she far and away leads the squad in rebounds per game, as the next closest on the team sits at 5.1 rebounds a game. Smith also leads the team in steals (38) and is second on the team in assists (29) and blocks (11), while shooting a shade over 40 percent from the field (58-142, 40.8).
