Kory Vaught is in his second season as the linebacker coach for the Lincoln football team. In the spring of 2025, he was given the additional title of special teams coordinator.
Before coming to Lincoln, Vaught spent four seasons at Ellsworth Community College. He started as the program's defensive coordinator before being elevated to head coach in 2022. From 2017-19, Vaught was the running backs and linebacker coach at Highland Community College. He also worked as an assistant coach for the Arizona Rattlers, an Indoor Football League program, in 2017.
From 2013-16, Vaught served as the running backs coach and special teams coordinator at Fort Scott Community College. Vaught broke into the coaching ranks as a student assistant at Friends University, where he also played for two seasons.Â
Vaught earned a bachelor's degree in health and physical education from Friends University in 2013 and also holds an associate's degree from Rock Valley Community College. He lives in Jefferson City with his girlfriend, Maria Ingram, and three children: Kory Jr., Lijah Ingram and Leonidas Vaught.
