Thompson enters her third season with the Blue Tigers, but only her second on the field after missing last season due to a medical redshirt… During her freshman season in 2008, Thompson played in 34 games, starting 32, posting a .173 batting average, three hits, 1 RBI and one sacrifice hit, while recording a .935 fielding percentage... On the mound, Thompson posted the top ERA on the team (5.29), with a 8-15 record in 135 innings pitched, while making 25 appearances and posting 18 complete games. Competed at Kirksville High School, playing softball and basketball, receiving four letters in softball and three in basketball… Named to the All-State, All-Region and All-Conference teams throughout high school. Daughter of Robert and Paulette Thompson, who played basketball at Central Methodist. Majoring in elementary education.
