A Lincoln graduate and a Blue Tiger through and through, Gerald Bascoe has been a part of LU's track & field program since 2007. During his time as a coach, Bascoe has helped the Blue Tigers win multiple conference championships and two national titles.
Bascoe, who earned a bachelor of liberal studies degree from Lincoln in 2010 and a master of business administration degree in 2015, helped both the LU men and women win the MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championship in 2016. For the men, it was their first MIAA title since 1981 while for the women, it was their fifth indoor indoor championship in the past six years.
A key member of the coaching staff for the Lincoln women's track & field teams 2014 outoor and 2016 indoor national championships, Bascoe also helped the LU men finish third at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in 2016. Bascoe has helped Blue Tigers earn over 100 All-American honors and has helped instruct more than 50 athletes who have won national titles.
In 2016-17, Bascoe helped direct Lincoln's men's track & field team to its most successful season in recent memory. The Blue Tigers won the MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship and finished a very close second at the NCAA Division II Championships.
A 12-time NCAA Division II All-American as a member of the Lincoln men's team between 2007-11, Bascoe was the team's captain in 2009 and was a USTFCCCA All-Academic performer. In addition to his coaching, Bascoe has held a variety of other positions at Lincoln, including serving in the career services, international admissions, admissions, and cooperative extension and research offices.
