THE KICK OFF:  The Lincoln men's soccer team begins a three-match road trip this week with two contests against GLVC opponents. On Wednesday (Sept. 16), Lincoln heads to Fayette, Iowa for a 2:30 p.m. CDT match against Upper Iowa. On Sunday (Sept. 20), the Blue Tigers will be in Kirksville, Mo. to play Truman State, with that game also kicking off at 2:30 p.m. CDT. Lincoln opened its home slate last Wednesday (Sept. 9), scoring a pair of goals against McKendree before the contest had to be postponed due to lightning at the 4:19 mark in the first half. The Blue Tigers beat Southwest Baptist, 3-1, at home on Sunday (Sept. 13). Upper Iowa is 0-3-2 overall and 0-3 in league play while Truman State is 2-2-1 on the season and 1-1-1 against conference competition.

During five seasons as the head coach at Maine-Fort Kent, Samuels coached 13 All-Americans and posted a 53-12-8 record. During that span, UMFK won the 2022 USCAA national title and was the national runner-up in both 2019 and 2021.
