INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After shutting down one of the best offenses in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, goalkeeper Vincent Osei of the Lincoln men's soccer team was named the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week. The conference office announced the honor on Monday afternoon (Sept. 14).

Facing a Southwest Baptist team that entered the weekend leading the weekend leading the GLVC in goals scored, Osei allowed only one successful goal on 13 shot attempts. Osei had a key stop on a penalty shot in the final minutes that helped sustain Lincoln's 3-1 victory on Sunday (Sept. 13). Osei made seven saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal.

This is the third time that Osei has been selected as the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week. He was previously honored on Sept. 9, 2024 and on Sept. 8, 2025.

Lincoln travels to Fayette, Iowa on Wednesday (Sept. 16) to play Upper Iowa at 2:30 p.m. CDT.
