Blue Tigers Drop Series Finale to Drury

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln baseball team and Drury closed their season four-game series on Sunday (March 29) with the Panthers outlasting the Blue Tigers, 18-6.

Nolan Laughlin drove in LU's first run of the day on a hit into right field that allowed Tim Fleming to score. Easton Stuckenschneider later scored on a passed ball to give the Blue Tigers a 2-1 lead entering the top of the second inning.

Drury (17-12, 8-4 GLVC) took advantage of three hits and an error to plate five runs in the second, and the Panthers held onto the lead the rest of the way. Aidan Streight got an RBI with a bases-load walk that scored Lauglin for LU's third run. In the seventh frame, Streight scored on a fielding error and Jacob Schulte returned home thanks to a ground out by Jayden Little. Another ground out brought in Andy Srebroski IV for LU's final run of the day.

Laughlin had two hits for Lincoln (6-20, 0-12 GLVC) while Daren Walters-Ansell and Chase Morris each had one. Jonah Claborn, Kooper Houvouras and Ryan Lepper each struck out Drury batters. Little recorded six putouts, Srebroski added four and Laughlin provided three. Srebroski, Walters-Ansell, Morris and Blythe Blakey had two assists apiece.

Next weekend, the Blue Tigers will travel to Kansas City, Mo. for a four-game series against Rockhurst.
