JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln baseball team hit three home runs, but Drury took the series opener, 25-6, on Friday afternoon (March 27).
Tim Fleming hit the first homer for Lincoln (6-17, 0-9 GLVC) in the bottom of the second. In the sixth inning,
Jayden Little and
Easton Stuckenschneider homered in back-to-back at-bats.Â
LU's other three runs all came in the bottom of the seventh. Fleming was hit by a pitch, reached second on a wild pitch and later took third on a fly out.
Felix Marquez drove Fleming home with a sacrifice fly.
Aidan Streight later hit a double and
Andy Srebroski IV was issued a walk. A base hit through the middle from Little allowed Streight to return to the plate. Srebroski later scored on a a single from Stuckenschneider.
Canon Feist struck out one Drury (14-12, 5-4 GLVC) batter while closer
Payten Hinton fanned two. Stuckenschneider went 3-for-4 at the plate. Little had five putouts, Fleming recorded four and Streight and Stuckenschneider both tallied three.
Daren Walters-Ansell had a team-high three assists.
Lincoln and Drury will meet again at Vivion Field for a double-header on Saturday (March 28), with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m. CDT.
