JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln men's soccer team opens its 2025 schedule at home on Saturday (Sept. 6), hosting Northeastern State at 1:00 p.m. CDT. This match, like all of Lincoln's home soccer contests in 2025, will be played at Dwight T. Reed Stadium.
All three of Lincoln's top scorers from 2024 return this season, led by
Shandee Brooks, who had a team-high seven goals en route to earning All-GLVC second team recognition.
Kevon Maitland, who was named to the All-GLVCÂ third team, scored six goals last season while
Hadri Lopez finished with three goals and a pair of assists.
Tavis Grant, who scored a goal, and
Rajae Lawrence, who recorded two assists, are among LU's other top offensive returners.Â
In the net,
Vincent Osei returns after starting seven matches and allowing only four goals while making 11 saves in an injury-shortened 2024 season. Osei was named the first GLVC Defensive Player of the Week last year.
Antwone Gooden, who also started seven matches and made a team-high 21 saves, joins
Sergio Aguilera and
Jadiel Chance, who each allowed just two goals last season, round ot Lincoln's returning keepers.
While the Blue Tigers are playing their first match of the season, Northeastern State will be playing its second after a 1-1 draw against Drury on Thursday (Sept. 4). Carter Adams scored the equalizer in the 80th minute off a pass from Martin Martinez. Goalkeeper Cameron McColloch had a save.
This is one of just two non-conference matches on LU's 2025 schedule. Next Friday (Sept. 12), the Blue Tigers will travel to St. Louis, Mo. to play Harris Stowe in a battle of Missouri's two HBCUs. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CDT.
