JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - After starting the season 2-0, the Lincoln football team has received votes in the HBCU D2 Football Coaches Poll, Powered by BOXTOROW.
In the week three poll of all the HBCU coaches in Division II, the Blue Tigers received seven points, only three fewer than the 10 points collected by Savannah State, the team that rounded out the top-10. Johnson C. Smith earned 16 first place votes to capture the top spot in this week's poll, while Edward Waters (131) and Albany State (123) round out the top-three.
Lincoln has started a season 2-0 for the first time since 1972 and will try to improve to 3-0 on Saturday (Sept. 20) when the Blue Tigers host Quincy. Kick-off for that contest is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CDT.
