Divya Gunasegar won the 2025 National Women's Collegiate Championship by seven strokes, leading the Lincoln women's golf team to a third-place finish. The three-round tournament was hosted by the Women In Golf Foundation, Inc. at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 2-3).
Divya Gunasegar shot a 73 in each of the first two rounds and posted a 77 in the third round for a total of 223, beating the second-place finisher, who shot a 230, by a wide margin. She becomes the second-consecutive Blue Tiger to win the individual medalist honors at the National Women's Collegiate Championship, joining her sister,
Kaathi Gunasegar, who was the victor of the tournament in 2024.
Three Blue Tigers finished among the top-10 on the individual leaderboard, including
Kaathi Gunasegar, who placed sixth with a final sum of 247 after shooting scores of 82, 82 and 83.
Maria Villamil took eighth with a total of 252. Villamil fired an 83 during the opening round, an 87 in the second round and an 82 in the third.
Ivanna Martinez finished in 21st after shooting 18-hole scores of 132, 114 and 108 for a final sum of 354. Michelle Granja, meanwhile, carded rounds of 133, 133 and 111 to place 23rd with a 377.
Next Monday and Tuesday (April 7-8), the Blue Tigers will travel to Madison, Ill. to compete in the UHSP Spring Invitational, held at Gateway National Golf Links.
