JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln men's soccer team, unbeaten on the season, has moved up to No. 15 in the country in the United Soccer Coaches Division II poll after a pair of victories over the season.
The Blue Tigers, currently 10-0-4 overall and 8-0-4 in GLVC play, are the league's highest-ranked program. Rockhurst, which currently has a one point lead in the conference standings, was also ranked, checking in at No. 20.
The GLVC also confirmed on Wednesday (Oct. 29) that Lincoln has clinched a berth in the conference postseason tournament. The Blue Tigers, who are second in the GLVC, currently have 28 points on the table, four more than McKendree, which is in third place with 24 points. With a win in one of its final two regular season matches, Lincoln will clinch a top-four seed in the tourney. This will be the first-ever trip to the GLVC Championship for the LU men's soccer program.
Lincoln closes the regular season with a 7:30 p.m. CDT match in Liberty, Mo. against William Jewell on Friday (Oct. 31) and a 2:30 p.m. CDT match against Rockhurst in Kansas City, Mo. on Sunday (Nov. 2).
