JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln men's basketball team improved to 7-0 in non-conference games and 7-1 in Jason Gym with a 76-52 victory over Mission on Monday afternoon (Dec. 16).
Franck Yetna led all scorers with 17 points and had four rebounds to go with two assists, a block and a steal.
Tyson Robinson added 16 points, three steals, an assist and a rebound.
Max Ekono, meanwhile, nearly tallied a triple-double, as he finished with 11 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and a pair of takeaways.
Lincoln (8-3) forced 16 turnovers while giving the ball away only eight times and held Mission (2-9) to .309 shooting from the field and just two successful second-half three-pointers. The Blue Tigers' reserves combined for 34 points as LU shot .431 overall and was a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line.Â
The Blue Tigers, who gave up only 21 points over the final 20 minutes, blocked seven shots, with
Matthieu Biembongo accounting for four of those rejections. Biembongo also provided eight points, seven boards and two steals.
Tyler Chapman contributed nine points, two assists, two steals and a rebound to the winning cause while
Mikey West dished three assists to go with five points, two steals and a rebound. Lincoln ended the afternoon with 13 steals.
Xavier Ball collected seven rebounds and chipped in five points and
Malcolm Davis ended the day with three points, two boards and a pair of assists.
Youssouf Timera had a pair of blocks to go with three rebounds and two points.
Caleb Wright grabbed a rebound,
Isaiah Robinson notched a steal and
Reumang Emagna dished an assist.
Lincoln heads to Springfield, Mo. on Wednesday (Dec. 18) to play Division I Missouri State in an exhibition game. That contest, which will be broadcast live on
ESPN+, will tip-off at 7:00 p.m. CST.
