BOLIVAR, Mo. - The Lincoln men's basketball team's season-opening win streak stopped at five as the Blue Tigers fell to Southwest Baptist, 75-56, on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 30).
The Blue Tigers held a 33-29 advantage in rebounding and allowed SBU to make just eight treys in 20 attempts, but Southwest Baptist (3-2, 1-0 GLVC) shot .531 overall, though LU held the Bearcats to just .391 shooting in the second half. Lincoln (5-1, 0-1 GLVC) shot .367 from the field and .333 from three-point range and out-scored Southwest Baptist,30-27, over the final 20 minutes.
Franck Yetna scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds, both team highs, and also recorded two steals and blocked a shot.
Caleb Wright also finished in double figures, scoring 10 points to go with two boards and a steal.
Max Ekono contributed two points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal while
Tyler Chapman ended the day with two points, two steals, an assist and a rebound.
Xavier Ball had two points and an assist and
Malcolm Davis provided two points, two rebounds and a block.
Mikey West came off the bench to score nine points, grab three rebounds, dish two assists and a register a steal.
Tyson Robinson finished with five points and an assist while
Matthieu Biembongo added four points, three boards and a block to the Blue Tiger effort.
Isaiah Robinson had two rebounds while
Youssouf Timera grabbed three and chipped in two points.
Fred Cuello closed out Lincoln with three points, two boards and a block.
The Blue Tigers will continue GLVC play on Monday night (Dec. 2) when Lincoln travels to Rolla, Mo. to play Missouri S&T at 7:30 p.m. CST.
