JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln women's soccer team scored two goals late in the second half, but dropped a 5-2 decision to William Jewell in the final match of its inaugural season on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 3).
Ivanna Faria scored unassisted in the 75th minute on a long kick from about 40 yards away for the first LU goal. Lincoln (5-13, 1-13 GLVC) got on the board again in the 85th minute as a crossing pass by Faria allowed
Courtney-Nicole Cooper to send the ball wide of the keeper. The Blue Tigers finished with seven shots on goal but William Jewell (4-11-2, 3-9-2 GLVC) ended the day with 18.
Faria led LU with six total shot attempts and three shots on goal while
Leah Serritos had three shots, two of which were on the net.
Faith Wylie had LU's other shot on goal.
Michelle Granja, meanwhile, recorded 13 saves.
