KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Lincoln football team played its final road game of 2024 on Saturday (Nov. 2), falling to Truman State, 52-7.
Lincoln (1-8, 0-7 GLVC) scored late in the second quarter, as
Isaiah Tate connected with
Tobias Williams on a 23-yard pass for a touchdown. The drive started at the LU 25, and
Isaiah Tate marched the Blue Tigers down the field by throwing passes of 24, 11 and eight yards to
Israel Tate as well finding
Anias Camarillo for a 13-yard gain.
Isaiah Tate completed 18 passes for 174 yards while
Israel Tate had eight receptions for 68 yards.
Truman State (5-4, 4-2 GLVC) rushed for 255 yards and threw for 305 while holding the Blue Tigers to 206 yards of offense. Lincoln's defense had five tackles for loss, including solo TFLs by
Yasir Talib-Harrison.
Trey Phillips, who also had six total tackles, made on tackle for loss while
Donte Moore,
Dontonio Moore,
Christian Harris and
Jacob McGhee each combined for a tackle for a loss.
Damien Barnes broke up a pass and made five takedowns.
Jayvon Only had a team-leading seven tackles while
Renard Willis,
Donte Moore,
Nathan Harden and
Jordan Hoskins had four tackles apiece.
Isaiah Tate led LU with 26 rushing yards while
Jareese Howard, who was 2-for-2 on pass attempts, averaged 3.0 yards per carry.
Clayton Winkler averaged 41.2 yards on punts and
Mo Alwaely averaged 37.5 yards on kickoffs.
Lincoln steps out of conference play to host a battle between HBCUs on Saturday (Nov. 9). The Blue Tigers will take on Lane at Dwight T. Reed Stadium in a 12:00 p.m. CST contest.
