HAYS, Kan. - The Lincoln football team fell to Fort Hays State, 71-3, on Saturday night (Sept. 30).
The Blue Tigers recorded two sacks, including one by
Jesse Brown and another by the tandem of
Kaden Mondy and
Woodens PierreLouis.
Elijah Juarez led LU with five tackles, including one for a loss, and Mondy also had a tackle for loss while matching
Ishaq Robinson, who had 0.5 tackles for loss, with three tackles.
Jordan Batts and
Kaleb Niebuhr also each made five tackles.
Brown,
Adrian Hopper and
Ian Hackney made four tackles apiece, and
Bryant Coley andÂ
Jamahreon Smith each finished with three.
Ramar Smith,
Zenin Hall,
TJ Jasper,
Wes Hollie and
Jordan Garth all totaled two tackles.
Mo Alwaely made a 30-yard field goal to get Lincoln (0-5) on the board in the fourth quarter, and averaged 57.7 yards on kickoffs against Fort Hays State (3-2).
Clayton Winkler, meanwhile, averaged 36.7 yards punting with a long of 48 yards. One of those punts landed inside the 20.
Xzavier Vaughn threw for 44 yards while
Jaylen Thomas completed all three of his pass attempts.
Omar Allen led the rushing attack with 45 yards, and
Blayden Brown led LU with three receptions.
The Blue Tigers return home to host Northeastern State in Jefferson City, Mo. on Saturday (Oct. 7) at 2:00 p.m. CDT.
