EDMOND, Okla. - The Lincoln softball team returned to the road on Friday (April 7) to play a pair of MIAA contests against Central Oklahoma. The Bronchos ended up winning both games, taking the first, 12-0, and the second, 10-0.
Madison Garcia and
Leah Wagner each had hits in the opener, with Wagner going a perfect 1.000 at the plate. Garcia had a double in the third inning before reaching third on a sacrifice bunt from Wagner. In the fifth inning,
Leslie Callahan was issued a walk before Wagner hit an infield single to give LU a pair of base runners.
Myah Dwyer went 2-for-3 against Central Oklahoma (29-4, 11-1 MIAA) in the second game as Lincoln (4-28, 1-15 MIAA) notched five total hits. Dwyer and Garcia led the opening frame off with back-to-back singles, and Dwyer had another base hit in the top of the third.
Emily Williams and Callahan started off the fourth frame with back-to-back singles.
Jordan Galliher started the game in the circle and struck out three UCO batters.
Emma Rakes tallied 11 putouts between the two games while Garcia and Wagner were each responsible for three. Callahan and
Maris Ollison each provided two assists in the second game, and Ollison and Dwyer each recorded two assists in the opener.Â
The Blue Tigers head to Newton, Kan. on Saturday (April 8) to take on Newman in a 1:00 p.m. CDT double-header.
