Bradley Leads Lincoln Against Fort Hays State


HAYS, Kan. - AJ Bradley went 9-for-9 at the free throw line and finished with a team-high 13 points, but the Lincoln women's basketball team lost to Fort Hays State, 77-57, on Thursday evening (Feb. 9).

The first half was the difference, as Fort Hays State (19-7, 14-4 MIAA) raced out to an early 25-8 lead. Lincoln (5-18, 3-14 MIAA) bounced back to pull within 36-20 at halftime, and LU went on to score 37 points in the second half. LU forced 12 turnovers, but FHSU out-rebounded the Blue Tigers, 49-28. As a team, Lincoln shot .909 at the free throw line.

Bradley additionally contributed three rebounds and a steal while two other Blue Tigers scored in double figures: Kelsey Mitchell, who had 10 points, five boards and a pair of steals; and Miriam Bazylewicz, who chipped in 10 points to go with four rebounds. Niyah Jackson dished six assists and tallied nine points while notching three steals and grabbing two rebounds.

Ashlyn Alloway provided eight points, three boards and an assist to the Lincoln cause, and Aliyah Bello led LU with six rebounds to go with a pair of assists and two points. Saniya Simmons rounded out the Blue Tigers with five points and two assists.

Lincoln travels to Kearney, Neb. on Satuday (Feb. 11) to play Nebraska Kearney at 2:00 p.m. CST.
