JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln men's basketball team shot .522 in the second half to pull away for a 66-48 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange in the first meeting between the two teams since 1999-2000 on Wednesday night (Dec. 6). The win extended Lincoln's hot start to the season, improving the Blue Tigers to 6-1 overall and 2-0 inside Jason Gym.
Franck Yetna led all scorers with 16 points, grabbed five rebounds, recorded five steals, blocked a shot and dished an assist.
Elijah Farr registered a double-double, finishing with 11 points, 10 boards, three assists and a steal.
Tyson Robinson came off the bench to score 14 points and had two rebounds to go with a steal and an assist.
Lincoln forced the Trojans into 19 turnovers, which LU turned into 24 points, and the Blue Tigers held a 34-27 advantage in rebounding. The Blue Tigers shot .400 in the first half en route to a 29-19 lead at halftime, then came out strong in the second, out-scoring Hannibal-LaGrange (3-6), 21-11, through the first 11 minutes of the period. Lincoln held Hannibal-LaGrange to .383 shooting overall and .333 from long range.
Jamar Madge, Jr. scored 11 points to go with two rebounds and a pair of assists.
DJ Richardson had two steals and two rebounds while chipping in seven points, and
Clay Butler recorded two points, an assist and a rebound.
Caleb Wright provided three points and a rebound while
Bronson Borlace notched a steal.
Jose Roberto Tanchyn pulled down five rebounds and scored two points, and
Peyton Williams finished with two rebounds and a block.
Sam Rautins also grabbed two rebounds for the Blue Tigers.
Lincoln continues a five-game homestand on Saturday (Dec. 9) as the Blue Tigers host Central Missouri at 3:00 p.m. CST.
