Ashlyn Alloway led the Lincoln women's basketball team with 21 points, but the Blue Tigers fell to Pittsburg State, 73-57, on Monday night (Dec. 18).
Alloway tied
AJ Bradley for the team lead with seven rebounds and blocked a shot. Bradley scored five points to go with three steals and two assists.
Steph Torres, meanwhile, ended the evening with 11 points, two assists and a pair of rebounds.
Lincoln (4-6, 1-4 MIAA) played Pittsburg State (10-1, 5-1 MIAA) tough in the first quarter, battling back from a 10-point deficit to end the first 10 minutes trailing just 14-10. The Gorillas shot .533 in the second quarter en route to taking a 40-30 halftime lead, and PSU held LU to just 11 points in the third to take control of the contest. The Blue Tigers forced Pittsburg State into 12 turnovers, but PSU held a 40-35 advantage in rebounding.
Biance Stocks chipped in six points, dished two assists, had a steal and secured three rebounds.
Imani Jones added five points and three boards while
Tatiana Beaumont tallied six rebounds and two points. Hanny Nybo blocked a shot and scored four points.
Alyssa McCarty, meanwhile, finished with three points, an assist, a steal and three rebounds.
Lincoln will be off until Saturday, Dec. 30, when the Blue Tigers host Evangel at 1:00 p.m. CST.
