The Lincoln University Athletic Department joins the University of Central Missouri and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in mourning the passing of Jerry Hughes, the longtime athletic director at Central Missouri.

"On behalf of our Blue Tiger Family, I express our deepest condolences to Vici, Greg, Chad, Parker, Ashley, and the UCM family," said Dr. Kevin Wilson, Lincoln University Vice President for Advancement, Athletics and Campus Recreation. "In addition to his historic impact on UCM, Division II, and the state of Missouri, Jerry will always be remembered for his kindness and wanting the best for those around him. Jerry's desire for doing things the right way and helping student-athletes see what's possible will undoubtedly be a part of his legacy."  

Hughes, who served as the athletics director at Central Missouri for the past 40 years, passed away late on Saturday night of a brief illness.
