Aderias Ealy caught a pair of touchdown passes on Saturday (Oct. 29), but the Lincoln football team dropped a 61-14 decision to Central Missouri.
Both of the touchdowns came on long passes, with the first being a 43-yard grab on a deep throw from
Zamar Brake in the second quarter. An eight-yard catch by
Samuel Ingoli as well as nine yards on the ground by LaMarco Yates also helped set up the scoring play. In the fourth quarter, meanwhile,
Chrisshun Robinson caught a 50-yard pass from Nathan Valencia to move Lincoln into UCM territory. Two plays later, Valencia found Ealy for a 26-yard score.
Central Missouri (3-6, 3-6 MIAA) limited Lincoln (0-9, 0-9 MIAA) to 54 yards rushing, with Brake, who passed for 86 yards, leading LU on the ground with 36 yards. Valencia completed six passes for 94 yards, and Ealy finished with 72 yards on four receptions.Â
Jaylon Mosley, who made seven total tackles, and
Cameron Hawkins each made a tackle for loss, and
TeAndre Skinner intercepted a pass while
Otis Jackson and Kelvon Durham each broke up passes. Julian Jackson-Linkhart led the defense with 10 tackles, Ian Hackney finished with eight and Cory Macon, Elvis Bridgeman and
Aeneas Tibbs each finished with six.
Kevon Jacobs (74 yards) and Daimon Bell (41 yards) led Lincoln in the return game, and Michael Cunningham averaged 54.0 yards on three kickoffs.
Clayton Winkler averaged 36.8 yards punting, with one kick going for 52 yards.
The Blue Tigers will close their 2022 home slate next Saturday (Nov. 5) by hosting Emporia State at 2:00 p.m. CT.
