CLAREMORE, Okla. - It was a three-point game at halftime, but Rogers State pulled away over the final 20 minutes as the Lincoln men's basketball team lost its first road game of 2022 by a final score of 72-51 on Thursday night (Jan. 20).

Josh Wallace and Destan Williams each scored 10 points, with Wallace also grabbing seven rebounds. John Gaines finished with seven points and Mark Boland added six, with each player tallying two rebounds and a steal.

Rogers State (11-6, 5-6 MIAA) opened the game on a 10-1 run and led by as many as 14 with 7:43 remaining in the first half. Ni'Sean Rigmaiden hit a three, Gaines made a shot at the line and Derrick Woods drained another shot from downtown to get Lincoln (1-12, 0-8 MIAA) back within seven. Rigmaiden and Woods ended the night with five points apiece, and Rigmaiden also dished three assists.

After the Hillcats regained a nine-point lead, Yaniel Vidal made a three-pointer to spring Lincoln onto another run, as the Blue Tigers sent the game into halftime with RSU's lead down to 26-23. The second half was a different story, however, as Rogers State shot a blistering .640 from the field and .600 from long range to out-score LU by 18.
