WARRENSBURG, Mo. - NIyah Jackson scored 17 points and
AJ Bradley chipped in 10, but the Lincoln women's basketball team dropped its season finale, 79-45, to Central Missouri on Saturday (Feb. 27).
After trailing Central Missouri, the No. 15 team in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's Division II poll, by just 18-16 after the first quarter, Lincoln struggled in the second, allowing UCM to score 22 points. Lincoln (2-22, 2-22 MIAA) forced Central Missouri (19-3, 19-3 MIAA) into 16 turnovers, with the Blue Tigers tallying eight steals, and LU's stifling defense beyond the arc caused the Jennies to shoot a dismal .091 from three-point range. The Jennies shot .483 overall, however, and shot .759 at the line.
Jackson supplied three rebounds, two assists and a steal, and Bradley finished with four boards, two steals and a pair of assists.
Ashtin Ingram led LU with six rebounds and two blocks, and scored three points to go with an assist and a steal.
Vivian Chigbu, meanwhile, had six points and four boards.
Aliyah Bello grabbed five rebounds and dished a team-high three assists while chipping in two points, and
Virja Lewis provided four points, two boards and a pair of steals to the Lincoln cause.
Kiara Cadore added three points to close the scoring, and
Haylie Holloway had four rebounds and an assist.
