KEARNEY, Neb. - The Lincoln football team dropped a 56-0 decision to Nebraska Kearney on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 23).
Zamar Brake threw for 88 yards,
Hosea Franklin rushed for 82 yards, and
Tori Hicks added 114 all-purpose yards.
Chrisshun Robinson made three catches for 42 yards, while
Aderias Ealy had two receptions and
Winston Ausmer added one.
Nebraska Kearney (7-1, 7-1 MIAA) entered the weekend with the MIAA's best record, but the Lincoln defense held them to just one touchdown during the game's first 13 minutes. The Lopers scored just before the end of the first quarter for a 14-point advantage, but broke the game open in the second with three more touchdowns.Â
Lincoln (0-7, 0-7 MIAA) was led defensively by
TeAndre Skinner with eight tackles and
LaMarr Spencer with seven takedowns, including a tackle for loss.
Jaylon Mosley also made seven tackles, and
Charles Robertson,
Elliott Albert and
Cody Bagby each made six apiece.
Clayton Winkler pinned UNK inside its 20 on two punts, with a long of 55 yards, and he averaged 55.0 yards on kickoffs. Hicks provided 89 yards on returns.
Lincoln returns to Dwight T. Reed Stadium next Saturday (Oct. 30) as the Blue Tigers host Central Missouri in a 2:00 p.m. CT contest.
