JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Four members of the Lincoln men's basketball team scored in double figures as the Blue Tigers remained perfect at home with a 67-60 win over Nebraska Kearney on Thursday (Jan. 7).
Cameron Potts,
Sai Witt and
Quinton Drayton each finished with 13 points, and
Ni'Sean Rigmaiden added 12 as Lincoln (5-2, 5-2 MIAA) won its third in a row while improving to 4-0 in Jason Gym. Potts ended the night with seven rebounds, five assists and five steals, and Witt contributed four boards and a pair of takeaways to the winning effort.
Yaniel Vidal, meanwhile, led LU with eight rebounds and provided six points and a steal.
Nebraska Kearney (2-6, 2-6 MIAA) scored the first points of the night, but that was the Lopers' only lead of the evening as Lincoln shot .500 from the field and forced UNK into 17 turnovers, resulting in 16 points for LU. The Blue Tigers held a 33-26 advantage at halftime and led by as many as 13 early in the second period. Defensively, LU limited the Lopers to just .400 shooting from the field and .368 shooting from long range.
Rigmaiden had three boards, two assists and a block, and
Jordan Notch came off the bench to provide six points, two rebounds, a dime, a steal and a block.
Mekhi Kimble, who had a pair of assists to go with a steal and two rebounds, matched
Lamont Ballard, Jr. with two points. Ballard also blocked a shot in Thursday's victory.
Lincoln remains at home on Saturday (Jan. 9) to host Fort Hays State in a 3:00 p.m. CST contest.
