CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Jonell Burton and Marcel Burton combined for 32 points as the Lincoln men's basketball team played an exhibition contest at Southeast Missouri on Saturday evening (Nov. 2). The Blue Tigers forced 23 turnovers and held the Redhawks to .316 shooting from three-point range, but ended up falling to SEMO, 73-56.

Marcel Burton led LU with 17 points and Jonell Burton added 15, and both players grabbed a team-high five rebounds. Jonell Burton also blocked three shots. Cameron Potts dished a game-high seven assists and notched four steals while chipping in two points and pulling down four rebounds. Bansi King added seven points to the Lincoln cause.

All 13 Blue Tigers appeared in the exhibition, with Zack Fields and Jordan Notch each tallying three boards and two points. Joe Davis finished with five points and DaMani Jarrett scored two while Alafia Oluwasogo made a free throw. LaMont Ballard closed the scoring with three points, and L'Kielynn Taylor had a steal. DJ Ward and Marcus Cohen also represented LU on the court.

Lincoln shot .328 overall and .318 from beyond the arc, but scored 26 points off turnovers. Southeast Missouri out-rebounded the Blue Tigers, 48-30, and shot .491 from the floor.

The Blue Tigers will open the 2019-20 season at the MIAA Challenge in Kansas City, Mo. next Friday and Saturday (Nov. 8-9). LU will play Sioux Falls on Friday and Upper Iowa on Saturday, with both games scheduled to tip at 6:45 p.m. CST inside Municipal Auditorium.
