JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Five members of the Lincoln men's basketball team scored in double figures as the Blue Tigers beat Culver-Stockton, 80-53, in their final game of 2018 on Sunday (Dec. 30).
Terrance Smith and
Jonell Burton each contributed 14 points and seven rebounds for the Blue Tigers, who improved to 8-3 on the season with the home win.
Jonell Burton added four assists while Smith had two and a steal.
Ni'Sean Rigmaiden was next with 12 points, and tallied two assists and a pair of steals.
Grant Olsson added 11 points and three boards, and
John Burton finished with 10 points.
Amariontez Ivory scored nine and dished three assists while grabbing five rebounds and blocking two shots.
Culver-Stockton (7-7) scored the first five points of the contest, but Lincoln responded with a 20-3 run to take control of the contest. The Blue Tigers led 43-21 at halftime and shot .485 from the floor for the game. The Wildcats shot .306 overall, and LU limited CSC to just four treys in 21 attempts.
Darrius Spencer provided six points and a pair of steals, and
L'Kielynn Taylor led the Blue Tigers with eight boards while tallying two points, an assist and a steal.
DJ Ward closed the scoring with two points and two rebounds.
Gary Pendleton represented LU on the court with a pair of rebounds, and
TJ Babikir closed out Lincoln's participation with a rebound and a steal.
Lincoln will be back at Jason Gym on Thursday (Jan. 3) as LU resumes MIAA play by hosting Pittsburg State at 7:30 p.m. CST.
