Zhanesha Dickerson scored 23 points and
Alecia Kaelke and
Alecia Gulledge each had double-doubles as the Lincoln women's basketball team beat Robert Morris-Springfield, 96-33, on Saturday evening (Dec. 1).
The Blue Tigers, who set a new program record for wins in a season on Monday (Nov. 26) against Blackburn, improve to 6-0 on the season. The 96 points were the most for Lincoln since a 96-51 victory at Harris Stowe in 2002-03.
Dickerson added seven rebounds, two assists, a pair of steals and a block to her game-high point total, and Kaelke led LU with 13 boards while scoring 12 points and tallying two steals. Gulledge led LU with five takeaways and had a pair of assists to go with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Lincoln had one of its most dominant defensive performances in recent history, forcing Robert Morris-Springfield (2-6) into 32 turnovers while allowing the Eagles to shoot just .283 from the floor and .125 overall. LU gave up only one field goal in the first quarter, as the Blue Tigers led 24-4 through the game's first 10 minutes.
For the game, Lincoln had 19 steals, scoring 38 points off of turnovers, and out-rebounded the Eagles, 47-25. Six of those rebounds belonged to
Tempary Gunter, who finished the night with 16 points and three steals.
Kiara Shoulded also joined the double-digit club, scoring 12 to go with four assists and four steals.
Zoi Thompson dished a team-high five assists and had three steals to go with nine points, and
Shannyn Triplett rounded out the scoring with seven points, three boards and four assists.
Lincoln will start conference play on Thursday (Dec. 6) as the Blue Tigers travel to Maryville, Mo. to play Northwest Missouri at 5:30 p.m. CST.
