SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Lincoln women's basketball team fell to NCAA Division I opponent Missouri State, 100-54, in an exhibition match on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 4).
The Blue Tigers used just seven players in the contest, and were led by
Zoi Thompson with 19 points and
Zhanesha Dickerson with 13. Thompson additionally provided three rebounds and two assists while Dickerson contributed an assist and a steal.
Kiara Shoulders and
Alecia Gulledge each tied for the team lead with five rebounds, with Shoulder tallying two points, two assists and a pair of steals. Gulledge, meanwhile, led LU with five steals and notched nine points. As a team, Lincoln forced the Bears into 15 turnovers and totaled eight steals.
Alecia Kaelke chipped in five points and
Majella Carey added four, with both players also grabbing a rebound.
Tempary Gunter rounded out the scoring for the Blue Tigers with two points to go with two boards and an assist.
Lincoln will officially open the 2018-19 season on Friday (Nov. 9) when the Blue Tigers travel to Magnolia, Ark. to play Southern Arkansas in a 6:00 p.m. CST contest.
