BOLIVAR, Mo. - The Lincoln men's basketball team led for most of the contest, but a late run allowed Minot State to hand the Blue Tigers a 78-69 loss on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 10). The game was played at Southwest Baptist University as part of the SBU Classic.
Minot State (1-1) ended the contest on a 13-0 run as the Beavers shot .586 from the floor over the final 20 minutes of the contest. Lincoln (1-1) was hot for most of the day as well, shooting .519 for the game, but was held without a basket for the last 4:54 of the contest.
Five Blue Tigers scored in double figures, including
Jonell Burton, who led Lincoln with 16 points while tallying four assists, three rebounds and a steal.
Grant Olsson added 15 points and five boards while
Ni'Sean Rigmaiden finished with 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal.
Terrance Smith and
Amariontez Ivory each chipped in 11 points, and Smith grabbed four rebounds to go with a pair of blocks.
L'Kielynn Taylor recorded four points, four boards, an assist and a steal, and Zack Field and
John Burton each finished with an assist and a block.
Lincoln will try to get back in the win column on Friday (Nov. 16) as the Blue Tigers host Lane in the Lincoln Classic at Jason Gym at 7:00 p.m. CST.Â
