JOPLIN, Mo. -
Daniel Castillo hit a homerun and
Mike Million and
Jackson Walker each scored twice, but Missouri Southern rallied from an early deficit to beat the Lincoln baseball team, 13-5, on Saturday (April 30).
Mason Price scored
Mike Million on a single through the middle after Million reached on a triple in the top of the first inning. In the second frame, Castillo followed a double by
Jackson Walker with a homerun over the right field wall. Lincoln nearly added to its 3-0 lead, as
Jake Walker got on board via base hit and eventually made it to third base, but Missouri Southern forced a line out to end the second inning.
Missouri Southern (30-16, 20-15 MIAA) scored an unearned run in the bottom of the second, but Lincoln (1-44, 0-35 MIAA) maintained its lead through the next two frames. The Lions rallied in the fifth inning, bringing in four runs on three hits to take their first lead of the contest. MSSU added to it in the sixth, scoring four more runs, including two on a homer.
Million got the LU offense going again in the eighth, hitting a two-out double before scoring on another base hit from Price. Lincoln capped the scoring in the top of the ninth, with

Jackson Walker on a double down the right field line.
Million, Price and
Jackson Walker each finished with two hits while
Kaleb Davis and
Wyatt Ahart had one hit apiece.
Zach Maskill and
Tyler Roberts each notched strikeouts on the mound, and Davis led the defense with seven putouts.
Jake Walker recorded five assists while
Nick Lovell was next with four.
The Blue Tigers will remain in Joplin, Mo. for one more game against the Lions on Sunday (May 1) at 1:00 p.m. CDT.
