MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri shot .560 from the floor as the Bearcats handed the Lincoln men's basketball team an 86-61 loss on Thursday night (Feb. 4).
Anthony Virdure led the Blue Tigers with 21 points, six rebounds and four assists to go with a block and a steal. Virdure was joined in double figures by
Jaylon Smith, who finished with 16 points, two boards and a team-high three steals.
O'Shai Clark just missed double digits with nine points and three rebounds.
Northwest Missouri jumped out to an early 13-1 lead and kept the advantage in double digits throughout the entire game. Lincoln was held to .327 shooting overall and just three made-three's in 18 attempts. NWMSU also finished with a 33-29 advantage in rebounding and held a 9-10 edge in turnovers.
Tacourrus Mattox and
Richie Lewis each scored four points for LU, with Mattox also grabbing a pair of rebounds.
Aaron Spudich,
Darrius Spencer and
Jeremy Jackson each had two points apiece, with Spudich grabbing four boards and Spencer tallying one.
Rod Ollison pulled down two rebounds and made a free throw to close out the scoring.
Alexander Nailes,
Chase Morfeld and
DeAnthony Wilson also represented LU on the court during the contest.
The Blue Tigers will close out this four-game road trip on Saturday (Feb. 4) when Lincoln heads to St. Joseph, Mo. to play Missouri Western. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CST.
