Blue Tigers Drop Series Finale to UNK

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Nebraska-Kearney took advantage of 21 hits, including seven homeruns, to earn a 25-6 win over the Lincoln baseball team on a windy Sunday afternoon (Feb. 28).

Lincoln (1-10, 0-3 MIAA) also had a homerun, courtesy of Mason Price in the bottom of the fourth. Price hit a solo shot over the centerfield wall to lead off the frame, providing Lincoln's only score until the bottom of the sixth. Price ended up scoring three runs on the day and got on base on three of his four at-bats.

An error got Price on board in the bottom of the sixth, and a base hit from Zach Anderson advanced him to third. Back-to-back singles from Daniel Castillo and Wyatt Ahart allowed both Price and Anderson to score later in the frame. In the bottom of the seventh, Nebraska-Kearney (4-6, 3-0 MIAA) gave up three more runs to the Blue Tigers, with the first coming on an Alex Ludwick single that brought in Price. Dylan Koehler, who reaced on a double, scored on a passed ball, and Anderson hit a double to plate Ludwick, rounding out the scoring for Lincoln.

Mike Million, Dillon Walker and Nick Lovell also had hits for Lincoln. Riley Crews notched three strikeouts on the mound while Zach Moore recorded one. Kaleb Davis tallied six putouts, Anderson recorded five and Jackson Walker finished with four. Lovell led the team with three assist while Dillon Walker and Jameson Mahan each had two.
