LEBANON, Ill. -
Azaria Nave led three Blue Tigers in double figures with 17 points, but McKendree handed the Lincoln women's basketball team a 78-66 loss on Friday (Dec. 30).
Nave also contributed four rebounds, three assists and a block while
Hunter Yoakum was next with 15 points, three boards and three assists.
Erica Gibbons added 13 points, six rebounds and her 20th block of the season.
Lincoln (1-10) kept the game close through three quarters, keeping McKendree (9-3) to a 20-17 lead after the first quarter and a 43-37 advantage at halftime. In the third quarter, the Blue Tigers out-scored the Bearcats, 15-14, to make it a 57-52 contest entering the final 10 minutes. McKendree opened the fourth quarter on a 9-1 run, however, to hold off an LU comeback.
Tyler Brown-Henderson led LU with seven rebounds and chipped in seven points.
Asia McCaskill blocked a pair of shots and scored eight points to go with five rebounds and a steal.
Citlali Lopez and
Kailey Foster rounded out the scoring with three points apiece, with Lopez also dishing two assists.
Tempary Gunter provided an assist, a rebound and a steal.
Shamirah Johnson, meanwhile, dished an assist while
Jordan Matthews pulled down a rebound.
Lincoln will next be in action on Thursday (Jan. 5), as the Blue Tigers host Central Oklahoma in Jason Gym at 5:30 p.m. CST.
