TOPEKA, Kan. - The Lincoln men's basketball team dropped an 86-57 decision to Washburn on the road on Monday night (Dec. 19).
Washburn (10-2, 2-2 MIAA) turned a 45-31 halftime lead into a 40-point advantage, as the Ichabods out-scored Lincoln (8-4, 2-2 MIAA) 41-26 over the game's final 20 minutes. Lincoln was held to a season-low .278 field goal percentage while the Ichabods shot .492 from the floor.
Tacourrus Mattox nearly had a double-double, finishing with nine points and 11 rebounds as well as a block.
Jaylon Smith also scored nine while
Darrius Spencer added eight points and six boards.
Alexander Nailes contributed five points while
Chase Morfeld and
Deionte Wilson each chipped in four.
Anthony Virdure led the Blue Tigers with 15 points to go with four rebounds and a pair of assists.
Maurice Mason tallied three points to close out the scoring and grabbed four rebounds while recording two assists, a block and a steal.
Rod Ollison also grabbed four rebounds.
Following the holiday break, the Blue Tigers will return home to Jason Gym to host Robert Morris-Peoria on Dec. 29 at 7:00 p.m. CST.
