Final Results
TOPEKA, Kan. - Lincoln's men's and women's indoor track & field teams combined to break a meet record and win five events at the MIAA Championships, hosted by Washburn University on Sunday (Feb. 28).
Kizan David was the MIAA champion in the men's triple jump with a distance of 15.35m, and was the runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 7.47m. LU's 4x400m relay team finished second in 3:13.62, and
Colby Jennings, Jr. was the runner-up in both the 200m (21.64) and the 400m (47.93). In the 400m, Jahnaza Francis claimed sixth with a time of 48.57, while in the 200m,
Shemar Fletcher placed eighth in 22.17.
The LU women won four events, including the 600-yard, as
Maria Diamond broke the MIAA Championship record with a time of 1:22.26.
Jameaka Mannings was the runner-up, clocking in at 1:25.41. LU also won both the 4x400m (3:45.61) and distance medley (12:02.78) relays, while
Chrissani May was the champion in the 800m with a time of 2:15.27.
Kelly-Ann Beckford finished as the runner-up in the 800m, timing in at 2:15.43, and
Danneika Lyn finished in fifth in the 60m dash with a time of 7.72.
Aliyah George closed the scoring for Lincoln with a time of 57.85 in the 400m, good for fifth place.
The Lincoln women scored 68 points to finish in fourth place at the conference championship meet. The Blue Tiger men scored 46 points and came in seventh.
