Joining Harold Robertson as one of just two Blue Tigers ever to be named MIAA Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons,
LaMonte Pruitt led the conference in scoring in 1972-73 (20.5 ppg.) and was the MIAA's rebound leader in 1973-74 (13.8 rpg.). Pruitt, who also joins Robert Woodland as one of only two Lincoln players to be selected to the All-MIAA first team three times, led the Blue Tigers to the MIAA regular season championship in 1971-72. Over the course of his four-year career, Pruitt led LU to 63 wins, posting a winning record in MIAA play in each of his final three seasons.
An NCAA Regional All-Tournament team selection in 1972, Pruitt was selected as the MIAA Player of the Year in 1972 and 1973 and was named to the MIAA All-Tournament team in 1973 and 1974. Pruitt's 13.8 rebounding average remains the best-ever by a Lincoln player, and Pruitt is also fourth on the Blue Tigers' rebounding chart with 949 in his career. Pruitt scored 1,825 points as a Blue Tiger and ranks third all-time on Lincoln's career scoring chart.
