Harold Robertson, one of the greatest players in the history of the Lincoln University men's basketball program, led NCAA Division II in scoring with an MIAA record 34.5 points per game during the 1977-78 season.

The MIAA's Most Valuable Player and an Associated Press Little All-American first team selection in 1977-78, Robertson led Lincoln to four NCAA Division II Regional appearances, two league regular season championships and one tournament crown during his time as a Blue Tigers. Robertson scored 2,551 points during his Lincoln career, the second-most by any player in MIAA history.

In that special 1977-78 campaign, Robertson led Lincoln to a 22-6 record and an appearance in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. He scored 965 points, which still stands as the MIAA's single season record, en route to earning All-American recognition from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), Street & Smith magazine and Basketball Weekly magazine. Robertson was also selected to the NCAA Division II Regional All-Tournament team and was invited to play in the NABC Collegiate All-Star Game.

A three-time All-MIAA first team selection and two-time league MVP, Robertson set three other marks that, to this day, are still conference records. On Jan. 11, 1978, Robertson scored an MIAA single game record 59 points against Arkansas-Little Rock. He also owns the league's career (1,116) and single season (408) records for field goals made. Making these accomplishments all the more impressive is the fact that Robertson played in an era where there was no shot clock or three-point line.

Robertson, who twice earned NABC All-District V honors and was a two-time selection to the MIAA's All-Tournament team, was selected in the fourth round of the 1978 National Basketball Association draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. The MIAA Hall of Fame will become the second Hall to induct Robertson, as he was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 1992 for his play at Lincoln.
